Full disclosure: I bought these for the style–not for their utility, so my review reflects that use. These are awesome. I got many compliments on them. I did not have some of the quality-control problems that were mentioned in other reviews. I ordered a 32×32 and the pants that arrived measured exactly to that size. I bought them a bit big on the assumption they would shrink in the wash and they did. I washed them in hot water and then dried them at maximum heat on purpose. They shrank by a full inch in the length and about 1/2 inch in the waist. The length ended up being perfect for me. The waist was a bit tight at first, but they stretched a bit during the day so they fit like a glove. They are quite tight in the thighs and the seat. The leg opening is straight and wide at the ankle–they look good with big boots. Surprisingly the material is quite thin–so thin that dark fabrics actually show through. As a result I only wear light colored shirts and only gray undergarments. I like them very much, but you need to plan for the shrink and the thinness.

These were an experiment because their carpenter pants have a pocket on the right side of the leg and not the left, and I am familiar with a pocket on the left form my previous brand.

Bought these “relaxed fit” pants alongside another pair of standard fit pants in the same size. These are by far more tight through the waist and thigh. Not to mention they are see-through and shrink at least an entire size in the wash. Why call these relaxed fit when they are demonstrably slimmer than your own standard fit? Size up or avoid altogether.

These seem to fit well now, but they have not been laundered yet so I don’t know if they will shrink. The hammer loops should be an option. They catch on things too often and I have to cut them off. Otherwise practical and a good value.

Purchased these for my husband to wear to work. (Illinois) Quality material and construction. They fit as expected. We’ve bought these several times over the years, however, this time instead of bright white, they have a yellow hue. The tag states ‘white’. We’re going to try to soak them in White Brite and hopefully that will solve the problem. I’d give them 5 stars if it weren’t for the yellow hue. The yellow coloring is disappointing.

Great fit for me a 5’4″ 120lb girl! I ordered a 28×30 and it’s got a higher waist fit, just below the belly button, hugs the butt nicely but not too tight, and loose on the legs straight cut but not baggy or anything unflattering. The material is medium weight and the double layers on the rear/front pockets makes sure it’s not see through.

Quality control is nonexistent! Have Ordered 2 pairs of pants the same size 3 different times and the waist is different widths ON EVERY PAIR!! A difference of between 1/4″ to a full 1″ in size when all are laid out with the sides lined up and only 2 of the pairs fit kind of comfortably, although a bit more snug than I would like! Now this new order I went up just 1 size to see if it would make a difference in comfort and they are so big I can literally pull them off with the zipper and button still fastened! On top of all with that the 2 pairs I can wear the front pickets are so narrow I can barely get my hand into them to get my keys out while the other pairs, that are all smaller than the label says they are, have nice wide openings in the pockets! Wore one pair about 3 times and the 4th time the crotch ripped out when I kneeled down, but not much of a surprise there since the material they are made from is so thin you can practically read through them! WILL NOT BE BUYING DICKIES PAINTERS PANTS AGAIN! IT’S WORTH THE EXTRA COST TO PAY MORE FOR BETTER QUALITY CONTROL AND HEAVIER DUTY MATERIAL THAT ACTUALLY LASTS LONG ENOUGH TO LAST MORE THAN A SINGLE WEEK OF USE!!!!

Love them. I spilled coffee on them the first day I wore them and was an hour away from home. Luckily I had seltzer in the car. I dosed my myself, got home, pretreated and then washed. They came out looking brand new and broken in

At first the pants were a great fit but after adhering to the washing instructions to tumble dry on low setting the length ended up 1-2″ shorter and the pants are no longer wearable.

Love them. For me, the fit was great. The whites are super white, which I really like. I am not in the trades anymore, I just love painter pants as I have since I was a kid in the 70s. The natural are great too very neutral, and more comfortable than Chinos/Khakis. These have pockets where you need them, are heavy and durable, built to last, but truly comfortable. They’ll work for work, and work as jeans.

Absolutely get one size up. They shrank a size in the wash. Otherwise, I love them!
Taylorrr (verified owner) –
Ordered a size up because I saw reviews that said they tend to shrink. The size was still too small upon arrival.
Bill Payer (verified owner) –
Buy one size larger. Nice quality and comfortable.

These pants are great, but they shrink significantly in the washer/dryer. I normally wear a 32 x 32, but I sized up to 34 x 34 and they fit perfectly after the wash.
Ken Y (verified owner) –
I’m usually a 34 x 34, but the reviews here indicated that I should order one size larger. That was a mistake. The 36 x 36 Were way too big.

Just absolutely not the quality of the past.. just huge pants that fit no one properly.. I run 20 painters. It’s a complete joke what yo make now

I don’t know to express how dissapointed i am with dickies as a brand. Im embarrassed to be seen in dickies painters pants. Im looking for a decent fitting pair of pants to outfit my crew with because these arent what professionals should be seen in. Every single pair fits different. Ive never had the same fitting pair twice. Why even bother putting sizes on them? Its almost offensive how stupid we look in these.

I have used this type of work pants for over 35 years. So much so that people who know me think I own nothing else but these white pants. Not true of course but I won’t consider any alternative as my main work attire. These are not as heavy duty as some other types but light enough to maneuver easily in and being off white they don’t heat up while in the sun. Perfect for me.
Ktqh88 (verified owner) –
In general these are great quality painter’s pants. I will say at least for me the white ones seem to hold up better than the natural beige, not sure why. The material is easy to work with. My only complaint and thus the 4 stars instead of 5 is what I assume is quality control. This past time I got 4 pair of the white and 2 of them are much more relaxed fit than the other 2 are and they are supposed to be the identical same pants. Would be nice if the fit were more reliable.

I bought these as an updated version of a pair I already have and also wanted to get a different size. They fit great and I like that the fabric is 100% cotton. However the design is a little bit different than the previous version I have and the fabric on the new pair feels thinner.
Jonathans (verified owner) –
The pants a labeled ad relaxed fit. So they thought they would be a lighter material. Instead they are the baggies pants ever known to man kind. Would not recommend
Ordell Robie (verified owner) –
These are Quality painters pants. But I was looking for the lightweight version. These relaxed fit painter’s pants are heavy, a little tight around the waist and big everywhere else. Not a good combination. The lightweight Dickies I previously purchased are lighter, have a little flex and are easier to wear in the summer. They have some give when moving up and down.

Hadn’t worn painters pants in years and looked forward to getting them, my other relaxed fit jeans from others and cargo shorts of the same size fit fine. These fit like they were two sizes smaller so I hesitate to order online again, if I see them in a store I may try them on

I don’t care for the material. I have had two pairs of Dickie’s painter’s pants over the last 35 years wearing each pair until they completely wore out. The new ones have a courser material that I don’t care for. Also, the relaxed fit is too loose. I am a woman ordering these men’s pants but they have fit great before.
